🐍 Launch Day Dev Log – Snake Asset Pack is Live! 🐍

Hey everyone!
I'm excited to announce the release of the Sly Serpent Snake Asset Pack, now live on Itch.io!

This has been one of my favorite packs to work on — snakes offer such a fun mix of danger, elegance, and wilderness, and I wanted to capture that across a wide range of personalities. Whether you're making a classic RPG, a survival sim, or a nature-focused title, these snakes should drop right in with minimal fuss.

✅ What Makes This Pack Special?

I didn’t want to just make “a few recolors.” This pack includes:

• 18 hand-crafted snake variants, from natural rattlers and patterned boas to exotic, brightly colored fantasy serpents.

• Multiple personalities and biome fits — perfect for deserts, jungles, swamps, or even magical realms.

• Detailed animations in up to 4 directions, including idle coils, flickering tongues, slithering movement, bite attacks, and even sleep poses.

The goal was to make something you could easily slot in as either:

• A hostile enemy (with attack and hit reactions),

• A background creature (with idle and sleep animations), or

• Even a tameable NPC or shop pet in more charming or cozy games.

💡 Behind the Scenes

This project started as a tiny side sprite — a simple snake. But the more I animated it, the more expressive it became. That led to experimenting with different patterns, poses, and finally full animation sets.

Getting the tongue flicker just right was a fun little challenge — it's a tiny detail, but it adds so much life.
